Interactive Timeline Link

Digital Timeline from 1830-1950, researched and created by Ava Stalvey for an undergraduate course research project using TimelineJS.

It entails the history of women’s undergarments from the 19th century corset evolution to the 20th century Interwar period bringing the transition to brassieres. Following the progress in women’s undergarments, advertisements from each time period highlights the social ideas backing each underwear iteration that was used to sell to women. Ultimately, women’s undergarments evolved to maintain continual consumption through following trending ideas of the time.
